CBD Infused Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Warning, you are about to enter the cult-like world of dogs. Okay, you won't really be entering into it because if you're looking at this recipe, you're probably deeply in love with all things canine.

I will state that I've never tasted dog biscuits before. So I'm not sure what I thought they would taste like or how to really make this. I knew dog biscuits were dry, just didn't realize how dry they really are. It should also be noted that I did have an actual human taste test these. He may have said that they tasted like fresh cardboard cookies, which was really disheartening to hear because I thought that meant they were unsalvageable. Oh little did I know that they were actually perfectly baked morsels of doggy goodness. All the dogs I've given these treats to have just munched it right up!

Yes, there is CBD in these biscuit treats. But yes, you can make these treats without CBD. I included it because Receptra Naturals shipped me a pet-friendly dropper bottle of CBD oil. When baking with CBD, some math is involved in terms of dosage per treat. In this recipe, I used half a bottle (0.25oz/7.5mL). So I had to work out the dosage of CBD in half a bottle, then divide that by the number of treats baked, which yielded the dosage of CBD per treat. Basically, be aware that the amount of CBD oil you add into your treats will be divided up by how many treats you have.

  • 7.5ml/0.25oz Receptra Naturals Pet CBD Oil

  • 1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour

  • 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup blueberries, halved

  2. In a mixing bowl, mix CBD oil and melted coconut oil.

  3. Add whole wheat flour, mix until fully combined.

  4. Add one egg at a time until well combined.

  5. Fold in peanut butter, 1 tablespoon at a time until well combined.

  6. Carefully fold in the blueberries as to not crush the berries.

  7. If you are using a cookie cutter: Roll out dough on a floured surface, using a cookie cutter, cut the treats.

  8. If using a silicone muffin tray: Using small amounts, push down the dough into each shape's well. Careful to not crush blueberries or leave air pockets.

  9. Bake for approximately 15 minutes.

  10. Cool completely prior to giving your doggos these scrumptious treats
